Overview

Elora Restaurante, nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Cuauhtémoc in Mexico City, offers a refined culinary experience that melds modern flair with traditional influences. Located at Río Volga 105, this restaurant presents an inviting atmosphere with its open-air design, perfect for those who appreciate dining in a relaxed yet stylish setting. Despite its airy layout, guests should be mindful that temperatures can feel cooler during colder days.

Elora’s menu shines with standout dishes like the Tiradito de Salmón, which delivers fresh, delicate flavors emblematic of Peru’s coastal cuisine, and the luxurious Pasta Con Truffa, elevating a simple classic with the earthy aroma of truffles. The Pollo Asado offers succulent, perfectly roasted chicken, embracing familiar comfort with a sophisticated touch. For those seeking creative bites, the Croqueta Con Ikura balances texture and taste beautifully, introducing a burst of salty richness from the salmon roe.

Brunch enthusiasts will find much to enjoy here. Frequent patrons commend Elora’s rendition of brunch staples—particularly the pan francés, huevos rotos, and benedictinos—remarking on their consistent quality and flavor depth. While some items, like the grilled cheese, were phased out after mixed reviews, the kitchen focuses on honing dishes that resonate with its clientele. Beverage options complement the food well, highlighted by an exceptional espresso and a refreshing jugo verde, contrasted by blended drinks that could use refinement.

Service at Elora Restaurante is widely praised for its warmth and attentiveness, contributing to a welcoming experience that matches the culinary delights. Though food preparation can sometimes take longer than expected, the overall patience is rewarded with satisfying plates and a well-thought-out presentation. The space itself combines charm and sophistication, drawing a diverse crowd—from local food lovers and brunch aficionados to visitors seeking a memorable meal in an effortlessly chic environment.

Whether you are looking to enjoy a leisurely weekend brunch or an intimate dinner featuring thoughtfully crafted dishes, Elora Restaurante situates itself as a notable destination in CDMX’s dynamic restaurant scene. Its balance of atmosphere, service, and culinary creativity invites repeat visits and leaves a lasting impression for those who appreciate subtlety and quality in their dining.

We tried it out on a Sunday afternoon. I was a little apprehensive as there were few customers. My fears were in vain, everything we ate was delicious.

CDMX Eats 2024 #45, Brunch #2: ate breakfast/brunch here ~6 times during a friend's visit. Their pan francés is very good as are their huevos rotos, benedictinos, and croque madame. Their grilled cheese was quite bad, but I no longer see it on their menu. Their jugo verde is incredible while their "americano" is just bad drip. Definitely worth paying for the espresso (which is quite good). Service is quite good, but food can take forever. The vibe/space is very, very cool. Would happily return for brunch.

Great food and drinks. Chilly when it's cold out, as it's all open air, but it's an amazing space.
